The third season of the Moominvalley series, produced by Gutsy Animations, has been nominated for the International Emmy Awards.
The third season of Moominvalley is competing for the Best Children's Animation International Emmy Award. Other nominees in the same category include the Brazilian Menino Maluquinho, the Japanese Rilakkuma's Theme Park Adventure, and the British The Smeds and The Smoos.
"This is a great honor for the entire Gutsy team in Finland and the UK, and it demonstrates how important it is for Finland to believe in domestic content and its appeal worldwide. If we were to win, this would be a historic recognition for the Finnish AV industry and the work that thousands of people in this field have been doing for a long time," says Marika Makaroff, CCO of Gutsy Animations and the creator of the Moominvalley series.
The third season of Moominvalley was directed by Sara Barbas, Jay Grace, Darren Robbie, and Nigel Davies. The series' main writers include the award-winning Mark Huckerby and Nick Ostler, as well as Josie Day, with Stephen Dorrance as the producer.
Moominvalley is available in over 70 countries worldwide, including the UK, France, Germany, Italy, Poland, Japan, and Canada. All seasons of the series can be watched on Yle Areena, and a fourth season is also in the works.
The International Emmy Award winners will be announced at the International Emmy Awards ceremony in New York, USA, on November 20, 2023.
